My decision to become a physician was influenced by my family: My grandfather was a doctor. My mother was in and out of hospitals when I was growing up, I developed a passion for medicine from a very early age as a result.
I enjoy taking care of patients at every point in their adult lives, from teens to senior citizens. I enjoy meeting all kinds of patients, and I enjoy treating all types of diseases, including chronic illnesses. Internal Medicine gives me the privilege to really get to know my patients on a very personal level. It also allows me to have work-family balance which is so important to me.
I am inspired by ordinary people doing extraordinary things. I am inspired by the beauty of simple things- walks on the beach, sunset at the mountains, and a good cuddle with the people I love. My job reminds me that every day is a blessing.
People are often surprised to learn that I am Spanish—I’m originally from Madrid. I moved to the US when I was 9 years old.
Prior to joining Cary Medical Group in 2001, I worked at Nashville Memorial Hospital/Skyline Medical Center as a hospital-based physician practicing inpatient, outpatient and consultative internal medicine.
